Why rent a birthday venue through PlaceHub?

A children's party needs something different from a fiftieth: a gym hall with mats and balls against a hall with a bar and room for music. Check the capacity, whether there is a kitchen, whether you may bring your own food and drink and how late it can run. That last point is listed for every space, because it is where things most often go wrong.

You book by the hour or half-day. Allow plenty of time for decorating and clearing up, or ask the host in the chat whether you can get in earlier.

Renting a birthday venue in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is expensive, and space here costs more per hour than anywhere else in the country. What you get in return is a city small enough to cross by bike: the ride from the Zuidas to Noord takes about fifteen minutes and includes a free ferry. English is spoken almost everywhere, which is not true of every Dutch city. Book a canal house or a warehouse on the IJ, and your guests will remember the room as clearly as the programme.

The birthday venues in Amsterdam all show the hourly rate, the facilities and reviews from earlier renters before you book anything.

Frequently asked questions about renting a birthday venue

Can I bring my own cake, snacks and drinks?

At many spaces, yes; at halls with their own bar sometimes not, or for a fee. It is in the house rules of the space, and otherwise a quick question in the chat settles it.

How late can a birthday party run?

The host sets that and it is shown on the listing. In a residential street the end time is often earlier than on a business park. Book until the time you are actually finished, clearing up included.

Is a gym hall a good idea for a children's party?

Often a very good one: lots of room, mats and balls, and nothing that breaks. Check that the hall is released for parties and that there is somewhere to eat and drink.

How does booking through PlaceHub work?

Find a space, choose a date and time slot, and pay online by iDEAL, card or Bancontact. The confirmation email arrives immediately with the practical details you need, and if the space is set to instant booking, your reservation is final the moment you pay.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes. How far ahead you get the full amount back depends on the cancellation policy the host chose for that particular space, and that policy is stated on the listing itself. You cancel it yourself from your bookings overview.
